I’ve always been pretty active throughout my life, playing team sports and regular football games on the weekends. A few years ago I decided I wanted to give running a go too and since then have done it about three or four times a week.

About six months ago I started to have some issues with my health and that meant I couldn’t exercise for a period of time which was really hard. I didn’t realise how much it helped me mentally not just physically. I am a happier person when I exercise.

A month or two ago I started slowly reintroducing light exercise on doctors’ advice and just started small with walks in the park or around my neighbourhood. It has just been so good to be able to get my body moving again.

I think it is important to know that exercise doesn’t have to be an intense workout. You can just get outside and go for a walk at your local park. It’s always nice to do with a mate and have a bit of a chat. It really does keep you feeling good physically and mentally.

Help me get active too!
